Sometimes, life has a way of making us feel small. Maybe you’ve looked around at the vastness of this world, the endless sky above, and thought, “Who am I? What difference do I make?” Maybe you’ve faced challenges that made you feel unnoticed or insignificant, wondering, “Does anyone even notice? Does God see what I’m going through?”
Yes, He does. Not only does God see you, but He also values you more than you could ever imagine. Jesus said, “Two sparrows are sold for a penny, yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. And even the hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29-31).
Sparrows were among the cheapest items in the marketplace in Jesus' time. They were considered almost worthless. Yet Jesus says that not one of them falls to the ground without God noticing. Not one! And if God takes the time to care for a sparrow, how much more must He care for you? You are His child, made in His image, crafted with His hands. He has numbered every hair on your head. That’s how much He loves you.
It’s easy for us to feel insignificant. The world can sometimes tell us that our value is tied to what we accomplish, how much we own, or how many people notice us. But God’s love for you isn’t based on any of that. It’s not based on your achievements, your possessions, or your popularity. It’s based on who you are: His creation, His child. You are precious to Him just because you exist.
God knows every detail about you. He knows every struggle, every tear, every hope, and every dream. He knows the number of hairs on your head! Now, for some of us, that’s an easier count than others—but the point is, God’s attention to you is that specific, that personal, and that intimate. You’re not just another face in the crowd to Him. You’re His child, and He loves you deeply.
So, lift your head, straighten your shoulders, and step into this week with confidence. You are a child of the Most High God, and He is watching over you every step of the way.
