A plane was caught in some intense turbulence. Don’t worry, it wasn’t our plane! We had a smooth, blessed trip back to the United States from Armenia just yesterday. But on this particular flight, the passengers were gripped with fear. You could feel the anxiety in the air as they held onto their seats, wondering what would happen next. It was chaos—except for one little girl, sitting there completely calm, at peace. She wasn’t worried. She wasn’t afraid. She didn’t even flinch when the plane rocked back and forth.
Someone leaned over and asked her, “Why aren’t you scared? Aren’t you worried about this storm?” And with a calm, confident voice, she smiled and said, “My dad is the pilot, and he’s taking me home.”
Friends, that’s the kind of faith and confidence God wants us to have. We all face storms in life—trials that shake us and challenges that seem overwhelming. It might be a health scare, financial trouble, or a relationship that’s on rocky ground. The winds of life can be strong, and the turbulence can feel frightening. But we don’t have to live in fear. Because our Heavenly Father is in control, and He’s taking us home.
The Bible says in Deuteronomy 31:6, ”Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." That’s God’s promise to you. No matter how fierce the storm may seem, God is right there, guiding you and protecting you every step of the way.
So when the winds blow, when life’s turbulence tries to shake you, remember: God is faithful, and He is in control. You might not understand why the turbulence has come. You may not see how you’re going to make it through. But here’s the key: instead of focusing on the storm, focus on the One who controls the storm. Instead of gripping the seat in fear, hold onto faith. Trust that God has already mapped out your journey, and He’s taking you exactly where you need to go.
