“Heaven was delighted! The Earth rejoiced! For Christ God walked among mankind.”
My Friends, those words come from one of the beautiful Nativity sharagans of the Armenian Church. And what powerful words they are!
They tell us that when Jesus was born, Heaven and Earth joined together in an explosion of joy. Something extraordinary happened that changed the world forever.
“God walked among mankind.” What an incredible thought! The Creator of the universe humbled Himself to walk among us. And He came as a baby—born in a manger—who would share our joys and sorrows, heal our wounds … and redeem our lives.
When Christ walked among mankind, He showed us the heart of God. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, welcomed the outcast. And He still walks with us, today. In every challenge, every joy, every moment of life, God is present.
God is not far off. He is right here, walking with us; carrying us when we need Him to; and calling us to walk with Him in faith, trust … and love. The birth of Jesus was His assurance that we are not alone.
Even so, I know that in this season, many people feel like they’re walking through darkness. Maybe it’s a struggle in your family; a challenge at work; a burden that’s been weighing you down.
Friends, when you feel overwhelmed, remember that Jesus was born to carry your burdens. When you feel unworthy, remember that Christ was born to lift you up. When you feel alone, remember that He was born to walk beside you.
So in this season of Christ’s birth, take a moment to rejoice with Heaven and Earth. Thank Him for coming to be with us, to save us, to restore us. Carry that grateful joy into the world around you.
Because here’s the glorious truth: “God walked among mankind”—and He’s still walking with us today. And that, my friends, changes everything.
Christ is Born and Revealed!
Blessed is the Revelation of Christ!
With prayers and blessings,
Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan
