Each day is a gift from God. It’s a fresh opportunity to pursue our dreams and aspirations. When we wake up in the morning, we do so with hope in our hearts, excitement in our souls, and a vision of what could be. Yet, there are times when we feel lost, disconnected, or even abandoned. The dreams that once inspired us now seem far away, and the path that was once clear appears uncertain.
The psalmist beautifully captures this in Psalm 139: “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there, your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Friends, this is not just a poetic line—this is a promise you can stand on. God’s presence is not limited by geography or circumstances. He is with us in the good times and the bad.
When you rise on the wings of the dawn, when everything is going well, it's easy to feel God's presence. But it’s in those moments on the far side of the sea that you truly learn to trust Him. It's in the challenges that you discover the strength of His hand holding you fast.
I love how this verse ends: "Your right hand will hold me fast." It doesn't say, "Your right hand might hold me," or "Your right hand could hold me." No, it says, "Your right hand will hold me fast." That means you can count on it. God is not going to let you slip through His fingers. He’s got you securely in His grip, and He’s not letting go.
So, whatever you're facing today, whatever sea you find yourself crossing, remember that God is with you. When the winds of life blow, when the waves crash around you, don’t be afraid, His hand is holding you fast. You won’t be shaken; you won’t be moved.
Let’s hold on to this truth and let it fill us with hope and courage. God’s hand is guiding us, His right hand is holding us fast. And no matter where life takes us, we are never, ever out of His reach.
Comforting!
