In the past, when I really wanted to remember something, I would write in the palms of my hands, and I would only write the most important things to call to memory. This mirrors the profound message from Isaiah: “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands” (Isaiah 49:16).
God tells us that He writes our names on His hands. This means we are very special and important to Him. Sometimes, we might not feel important to God. But we should remember that every time God looks at His hands, He sees our names there.
The word used in Greek means God “engraved” our names on His palm. This isn't something that can disappear. It's God's promise to us that He will always remember us and never leave us.
So, we don't have to be afraid of life's hard times. Let's face these challenges knowing that God, who we belong to, will help us through them. Hasn't He always taken care of us until now?
Let's think back on the times God has helped us before. This will remind us that He's with us in our current struggles. And whenever we need to stay strong in our faith, let's remember that God is holding us in His hands, where our names are written.
