God loves to give us new opportunities and fresh starts. Prophet Jonah ran from God's call and ended up in the belly of a great fish, yet God gave him a second chance to fulfill his mission. Apostle Peter denied Jesus three times, but after the resurrection, Jesus sought him out and offered him a renewed purpose. That's the incredible love of our God. He's always ready to offer us second chances.
Two years ago, I experienced the reality of second chances in a profound way. I was involved in a very bad car accident. I remember lying in the hospital, feeling overwhelmed by the situation. But in the midst of the pain and uncertainty, I felt a profound sense of gratitude. I thanked God for sparing my life and for giving me another chance to continue my ministry.
By God’s mercy, I was given a second chance at life. The recovery was long and challenging, but with every step I took, I felt God’s hand guiding me, reminding me of His love and faithfulness. Every day since then, I promised myself to live each day with gratitude. I thanked God for the breath in my lungs, for the strength to walk again, and for the opportunity to continue serving Him.
The Bible says, “It is wonderful to be grateful and to sing your praises, LORD Most High! It is wonderful each morning to tell about your love and at night to announce how faithful you are” (Psalm 92:1-2). This isn’t just a one-time prayer; it’s a lifestyle. Every morning when you wake up, take a moment to thank God for His love and mercy. Every night before you go to bed, remember His faithfulness throughout the day.
If you’re reading this, breathing and living, it means your mission isn’t over. No matter what has happened in your past, maybe you’ve made mistakes, maybe you’ve faced challenges, but God’s grace is bigger than any of that. He’s giving you a second chance. And when God gives you a second chance, embrace it with a heart full of thanksgiving.
