Walking by Faith

Did you know that the average pair of healthy human feet takes about 8,000 steps a day, 2.5 million steps a year, and walks about 115,000 miles over the course of a lifetime? Think about that for a moment. That’s a lot of steps! You thought you were tired, didn’t you? But here's the thing—each of those steps represents a moment, an opportunity, a decision.

Scripture often refers to our lives as a walk, a journey that requires dedication, courage, and persistence. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." This means that our journey isn't just about the physical steps we take; it’s about the spiritual steps, the steps of faith.

Just like those 8,000 steps we take every day, our spiritual walk is made up of countless decisions to follow God, to trust Him, to surrender to His will. This walk requires self-surrender, fully yielding one’s life, and intensely desiring to please God rather than self. Each step we take is an exercise of faith, a step closer to the destiny God has planned for us.

This journey isn’t about relying on our own strength. It’s not about how fast we can go or how strong we are. No, the successful completion of this walk depends on the strength, leadership, and controlling influence of the Holy Spirit. When we surrender to the Holy Spirit, we’re not walking alone. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our comforter, our source of strength. When we feel weary, He renews our strength. When we feel lost, He directs our path. When we face challenges, He gives us the courage to keep moving forward.

So keep walking. Keep trusting. Remember that God is with you every step of the way, no matter what obstacles you face or how tired you feel. He’s ordering your steps, guiding your path, and leading you into His perfect plan. And as we walk, let’s remember that it’s not just about the destination but the journey and the transformation that takes place along the way with God by our side.
