Your True Worth

Have you ever questioned your worth? Have you ever felt rejected, overlooked, or underestimated by the world? Maybe you’ve been in situations where others didn’t see your potential, where your hard work was dismissed, or your dreams seemed out of reach. It’s easy in those moments to feel like you’re not enough, like you don’t measure up.

In society today, it seems like everyone is being weighed and measured. We live in a world where value is often determined by material wealth and social status. You’re continually appraised by the size of your bank account, the labels on your clothes, the number of likes and followers you have on social media. And if we’re not careful, we can start believing that our worth comes from those things.

But God’s economy is different! He’s not looking at your bank account. He’s not impressed by how many achievements you’ve racked up or how much recognition you’ve received. No, God looks at the real you—the “you” He lovingly created. Being rich or poor, successful or not in worldly terms, has absolutely nothing to do with your true worth in the eyes of God.

There are two key things that determine value in life. First, what someone is willing to pay for it. Second, who has owned it. The value of a piece of art skyrockets if it’s painted by a renowned artist or if someone famous has owned it. A car, an autograph, even a simple piece of memorabilia can suddenly be worth millions because of the person who touched it.

Now, you have been bought and paid for by Christ, so you belong to Him (1 Corinthians 7:23). Christ, the Son of God, saw so much value in you that He was willing to pay for you with His life! He didn’t do it because He had to—He did it because He loves you and because you are worth it. He thought you were worth dying for.

So, the next time you question your worth, the next time the world tries to make you feel small, insignificant, or overlooked, I want you to remember the cross. Lord Jesus laid down His life not for the “successful you” or the “perfect you” but for the real you. You are priceless, you are loved, and you are enough!
